FLOWER SHOW 2009 "California Dreaming"
Our 31st ANNUAL FLOWER SHOW RESULTS
by Flower Show Co-Chair, Sharon Tooley
The show reminded me of having company; you are
glad to see them visit and equally glad to see them go.
We had lots of help this year and I want to personally
thank everyone who gave me direction, answered my
many questions and cheerfully pitched in as needed.
We had a lovely lunch after judging at Ann Dahnke's
home in Poway and a very organized and successful
plant sale on Saturday. Dee Franzen told me the sale
raised over 740$ and we managed to sell almost every
plant!

Our six judges carefully picked out the best of the best...

Flower
Show 2005

The Poway Valley Garden Club held
its 28th Standard Flower Show in conjunction with the Earth/Arbor
Day Celebration sponsored by the City of Poway. The three-day
event for the Club involved 72% of our members in many ways.
The overall support of our club was fantastic, a total of
33 members made design and horticultural entries, while nine
others chose to serve as committee members or chairmen.
The involvement of the ROP (Regional Occupational
Program) floral design class was inspiring and hopefully it
will be the beginning of an on-going relationship.
We are especially please with the new
features of our show: the floral design demonstrations were
fun to watch and we sold the creations to help cover costs.
The children’s planting activity attracted visitors
to our area and we received many favorable comments.
Garden
Festival 2006
Our Garden Festival was a huges
success. Thank you to all who participated and visited our
